Abstract

Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) measurements were used to examine the effects of temperature on a mixture of paraffin wax (PW) and calcium soaps of rubber seed oil (Ca-RSO) with mass ratios of 1:0.001, 1:0.002, and 1:0.005 respectively. The activation energy for the degradation process was evaluated using Broido’s equation which provides a quick estimation of the overall process. The residual weight at 500oC and activation energy obtained were 26.43 % and 55.92kJ/mol respectively for the mixture having mass ratio 1:0.005. The findings offer fresh perspectives and are pertinent to the use of metal soaps of RSO in industrial settings.
